Anaswara Rajan is an Indian actress who works mainly in Malayalam films. Her first feature film was Udaharanam Sujatha (2017).[1] Anaswara gained popularity through the commercially successful Malayalam films Thanneer Mathan Dinangal (2019), Super Sharanya (2022) and Neru (2023).

Early life

Anaswara was born on 8 September 2002[2] to Rajan and Usha, natives of Karivellur.[3] She was educated at St. Mary's Girls High School in Payyanur.[4]

Acting career

Anaswara made her film acting debut with Udaharanam Sujatha (2017), as Athira Krishnan, the rebellious daughter of Sujatha Krishnan, played by Manju Warrier. Anaswara played her first leading role in the film Thanneer Mathan Dinangal (2019).[1] The film, set against the backdrop of a high school that had a heartwarming tale of love, misunderstanding, and the struggles of growing up, turned out to be a sleeper hit, and she shot to fame following it.[5] She played the title role in Super Sharanya (2022), which had a strong showing at the box office.[6]

Anaswara made her entry into Tamil cinema with the Trisha starrer Raangi (2022).[7] She made her Hindi debut with Yaariyan 2 (2023).In the same year she appeared in Neru, starring Mohanlal directed by Jeethu Joseph. Her performance in the film was well acclaimed and regarded as her career best. [8]
