Khash County (Persian: شهرستان خاش) is in Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Khash.

At the 2006 census, the county's population was 161,918 in 32,478 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 155,652 people in 35,476 households.[4] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 173,821 in 48,396 households.[2]

Administrative divisions

The population history and structural changes of Khash County's administrative divisions over three consecutive censuses are shown in the following table. The latest census shows three districts, 11 rural districts, and two cities.[2]

After the 2016 census, the village of Deh-e Rais was elevated to the status of a city.[5] In December 2019, Poshtkuh Rural District was separated from the Central District in the establishment of Poshtkuh District,[6] and the village of Esmailabad was elevated to city status.[6] In 2019, Nukabad District was separated from the county in the establishment of Taftan County.[7]
