Kimberley Simms

Kimberley Simms (born July 27, 1963, in Toledo, Ohio) [1] is an American actress, best known for her role as Mindy Lewis on Guiding Light.

Early Life

She is the second of five children.[1] Her family moved from Toledo, Ohio to Melbourne, Florida when she was 15.[1] She was badly injured in a car accident at age 18 and had to have her face reconstructed with plastic surgery.[1]

She attended the University of California at Irvine and UCLA, where she earned a degree in theater.[1]

Career

She appeared on Capitol before being cast as Mindy Lewis on Guiding Light, replacing Krista Tesreau.[2] She played the role from July 1989 until her departure in September 1992.

Simms also appeared in an episode of Burke's Law, titled "Who Killed the Soap Star?"

Personal Life

She has been married to chef Christopher Blobaum since 2001. The couple have a daughter, Tuesday, whom they adopted from China.[3]
