Lissandro Formica (born 2 October 2009), performing under the mononym Lissandro, is a French teenaged singer best known for winning the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Earlier, in 2020, he had reached the final of the seventh season of the French version of The Voice Kids.

He is also an experienced dubbing artist. He has done voice-overs for several television series and animation films.[1]

Biography

Lissandro was born on 2 October 2009 in the Moselle department.[2] He got an interest in music when he was five. It was thanks to his father that he discovered Elvis Presley. Lissandro's love for Elvis earned his the nickname Elvissandro.[3]

2020 : The Voice Kids

Lissandro was discovered by his singing teacher Marina D'Amico, who had was a finalist on the French X Factor in 2011 and also was a contestant on the French edition of The Voice in 2014.[4][5]

He participated in the seventh season of The Voice Kids France, where he reached the final. In the blind auditions, he sang "Too Much" by his idol Elvis Presley. All the four judges turned their seats for him. He chose Jennifer.[6][3][7]

2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest

In 2022, he was internally selected by France Télévisions to represent France at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with a song titled "Oh Maman!".[8]

On 28 October 2022, the song was released as a single.[9] On November 6, the accompanying music video was unveiled.[10]

On 11 December, Lissandro won the Junior Eurovision with a total of 203 points, above second-place Armenia with 180 points and third-place Georgia with 161. This was France's second victory at the contest, after that of Valentina in 2020 with her song "J'imagine".[11][12]
