It will be the nation's eleventh appearance and the official return of the nation's into the Summer Olympics edition, after the nation's withdrawal at the 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

North Korea entered two boxers into the Olympic tournament. Pang Chol-mi (women's bantamweight) and Won Ung-yong (women's lightweight) qualified themself to Paris in their respective division by advancing to the semifinals round at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.[1]
