I Can See Your Voice franchise |
Sedato (Persian: صداتو; English: Your voice)[1] is an Iranian television mystery music game show series based on the South Korean programme I Can See Your Voice. Also as the first adaptation to entirely broadcast through a streaming television service since the show's premiere on 31 May 2023,[2] it has aired two seasons on Filimo .
Gameplay
Format
Presented with a group of six "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a contestant must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of four rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of performing itself, depending on contestant's choice.[a]
The contestant must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving ﷼20,000,000 if they eliminate a bad singer. At the end of the game, the contestant may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it for a chance to win ﷼200,000,000 by correctly guessing whether the last remaining mystery singer is good or bad.[8]
Rounds
Lip sync round
- Lip sync (Persian: لیپ سینک)
Evidence round
- Unlock (Persian: آنلاک)

Rehearsal round
- Secret studio (Persian: استودیو مخفی)
The contestant is presented with video from a recording session by one of the mystery singers, but pitch-shifted to obscure their actual vocals.[b][c]
Interrogation round
- Question and answer (Persian: سین جیم)
The contestant may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.[b][c]
- Notes
- ^ For the show's gameplay changes, based on playing time of an episode:[2][3]
- In the 2nd season, the guest artists returned for duet performing purposes, unless they are technically included.[4][5]
- Actually, the winning mystery singer can perform freely without accompanying guest artist(s) for a duet;[6] this was introduced when bad singer Kim Joo-young did in the 8th season of original South Korean counterpart.[7]
- The number of rounds are set to three (for the 2nd season) or four (for the 1st season).
- In the 2nd season, the guest artists returned for duet performing purposes, unless they are technically included.[4][5]

Background
Production and development
Sabaidea[9]
formally acquired the rights to produce a local adaptation of I Can See Your Voice in Iran in May 2023.Naming
The show's title Sedato (Persian: صداتو; English: Your voice) comes from a shortened name of its full title I Can See Your Voice (Persian: من میتونم صداتو ببینم, romanized: Man mí-tunam sedato bebinam).[1]
Broadcast history
Sedato debuted on 31 May 2023.[a] During its first season airings preempted in observance of Muharram,[20] the series was already renewed for a second season[21] that premiered on 21 March 2024.[22][4] Also, the same season finale that initially scheduled for 6 September 2023,[23][24] was later moved to 30 September 2023, due to "mourning days" that possibly related to the first death anniversary of Mahsa Amini.[25]
Special episode
Javad Hashemi played alongside with the returning good singer Ali Ayaz Khani in his "appreciation day" (of a second season) on 11 April 2024.[26][27]
