Vincent Leonard Price (Saint Louis, Missouri, 1911ko maiatzaren 27a - Los Angeles, Kalifornia, 1993ko urriaren 25a) Ameriketako Estatu Batuetako aktorea izan zen. Dotorezia handiko gizona, “gaizto” adimentsuen paperetan espezializatu zen. Fantasia eta beldurrezko filmek eman zioten osperik handiena.[1]
Bizitza
Vincent Price Saint Louisen jaio zen, Missourin, 1993ko urriaren 25ean. Bertan egin zituen oinarrizko ikasketak. Yale Unibertsitatean artearen historia ikasi zuen. 1935etik aurrera egin zituen bere aurreneko aktore lanak, antzerkiko taulen gainean, era guztietako rolak betez. Alberto printzea, Don Giovanni eta Oscar Wilde gorpuztu zituen, besteak beste, antzerkiaren munduan. Egundoko ahalegina egin behar izan zuen idazleari bizia emateko, bera izan baitzen bertsio horretako aktore bakarra.[2]
1938an egin zuen lehenbiziko lana kamaren aurrean, Rowland V. Leek zuzendutako Service De Luxe filmean. 1944an, Otto Premingerren Laura-n eta 1946an Joseph L. Mankiewiczen Dragonwyck-en aritu zen. Hala ere, beldurrezko jeneroak eman zion ospea. Jeneroak irribarrea eragiten ziola esan zuen behin baino gehiagotan, eta gustura eta oso gogo onez egin zuen lan Roger Cormanen aginduetara, Edgar Allan Poeren hitzak tarteko.[2]
Beldurretik eta suspentsetik kanpo ere egin zuen lanik, meritu handiko lanak gainera. Horra hor, adibide gisa, The Three Musketeers (1948)), The Ten Commandments (1956) edo The Big Circus (1959) filmetan egindako antzezpenak.
