A Medalla linneana é un galardón concedido pola Sociedade Linneana de Londres desde 1888.

Concedíase todos os anos como recompensa en alternancia a un botánico ou a un zoólogo, pero desde 1958 recompénsase no mesmo ano a dous especialistas.

Desde o ano 1976 recuperou seu nome inicial de "Medalla de ouro da Sociedade Linneana".

A medalla foi de ouro até 1976, e refírese nos anos anteriores como "a Medalla de Ouro da Sociedade Lineana", que non debe confundirse coa Medalla de Ouro Linneana oficial, que poucas veces se outorga.[1][2]

O gravador da medalla foi Charles Anderson Ferrier de Dundee, membro da Sociedade Linneana en 1882. No anverso da medalla está a cabeza de Linneo de perfil e as palabras "Carolvs Linnaevs", no reverso están o escudo da Sociedade e a lenda Societas Linnaeana optime merenti, reservándose un espazo para o nome do galardoado ou galardoada.[3]
