"The Show Must Go On" (בעברית: "המופע חייב להימשך") הוא סינגל ושיר רוק של הלהקה הבריטית קווין, אשר נכלל באלבומם ה-14, Innuendo והאחרון בו פרדי מרקיורי היה חי בצאתו לאור. השיר נכתב בידי בריאן מיי והופק בידי דייוויד ריצ'רדס. זהו השיר האחרון באלבום.

הפקה

השיר נכתב כפרידה ממרקיורי בשל מאבקו במחלת האיידס. כשהגיע הזמן להקליט את מרקיורי, חשש מיי כי מרקורי לא יוכל לעשות זאת פיזית. מרקיורי אמר: "אני פאקינג אעשה את זה, דארלינג!" (I'll fucking do it, darling!), שתה שוט של וודקה והקליט. השיר יצא באוקטובר 1991, ולאחר כחודש פנה מרקיורי בהודעה לתקשורת, שם הודיע לראשונה לציבור כי הוא חולה במחלת האיידס. הוא נפטר יום לאחר ההודעה.

קצב השיר דומה לשיר "I Want It All". השיר מתחיל בסינתיסייזר (מסוג Korg M1) ובקטע בעל ארבעה תיפופים. לאחר מכן מתחילה השירה שמובילה לסולואים בסגנון רוק כבד.

הווידאו כולל לקט של קליפים של הלהקה לאורך הקריירה המקצועית של מרקיורי.

אלטון ג'ון ביצע שתי גרסאות כיסוי יחד עם מיי, דיקון וטיילור. הפעם הראשונה הייתה בשנת 1992 במופע המחווה לפרדי מרקיורי ביחד עם הגיטריסט טוני איומי מלהקת בלאק סבאת', ובפעם השנייה בשנת 1997 עם להקת הבלט השווייצרית Béjart Ballet בפריז. הביצוע של אלטון ג'ון מ-1997 מופיע גם באלבום האוסף של קווין Greatest Hits III. השיר גם בוצע בסרט מולין רוז'.
