신약의 역사적 배경

역사적 예수와 초기 기독교 연구의 대부분의 학자들은 정식 복음서와 예수의 인생을 같이 볼 뿐만이 아니라 순전히 보다 기독교 정통주의의 관점에서, 그의 역사적, 문화적 맥락에 위치해야 한다고 생각한다.^[1][2] 그들은 같은 그 당시 유대인 문화에 대한 재생에 있던 구두 복음 전통과 그리스주의의 영향과 로마 점령 지역에서의 긴장, 동향, 변경 등의 "힘"을 봐야 한다고 본다. 따라서, 예수의 문화적, 역사적 맥락은 1세기 갈릴래아와 로마 유대 및 제2차 성전 유대교의 전통의 그것이다.
