(ജർമ്മൻ ഉച്ചാരണം: [ˈʔʊɐ̯zula fɔn dɛɐ̯ ˈlaɪən] ( listen ) ; Albrecht 2005 മുതൽ 2019 വരെ ജർമ്മനിയിലെ ഫെഡറൽ ഗവൺമെന്റിൽ ഏഞ്ചല മെർക്കലിന്റെ മന്ത്രിസഭയിൽ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ കാലം സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. സെന്റർ-റൈറ്റ് ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ ഡെമോക്രാറ്റിക് യൂണിയനിലെ (CDU) അംഗവുമാണ്.
ഉർസുല ജനിച്ചതും വളർന്നതും ബ്രസ്സൽസിലാണ്. അവിടെ അവരുടെ പിതാവ് ഏണസ്റ്റ് ആൽബ്രെച്റ്റ് ആദ്യത്തെ യൂറോപ്യൻ സിവിൽ സേവകരിലൊരാളായിരുന്നു. ജർമ്മൻ, ഫ്രഞ്ച് ഭാഷകളിൽ ദ്വിഭാഷിയായി വളർന്ന അവർ ജർമ്മൻ, ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് അമേരിക്കൻ വംശജയാണ്. 1976-ൽ ലോവർ സാക്സോണി സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ മന്ത്രി പ്രസിഡന്റാകാൻ അവളുടെ പിതാവ് രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചപ്പോൾ 1971-ൽ അവർ ഹാനോവറിലേക്ക് മാറി. 1970 കളുടെ അവസാനത്തിൽ ലണ്ടൻ സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് ഇക്കണോമിക്സിൽ സാമ്പത്തിക വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിയെന്ന നിലയിൽ, സൗത്ത് കരോലിനയിലെ ചാൾസ്റ്റണിൽ നിന്നുള്ള അമേരിക്കൻ മുത്തശ്ശിയുടെ കുടുംബനാമമായ റോസ് ലാഡ്സൺ എന്ന പേരിലാണ് അവർ താമസിച്ചിരുന്നത്.
