ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടും ഫ്രാൻസും തമ്മിൽ 1337-നും 1453-നു മിടയ്ക്ക് തെക്കു കിഴക്കൻ ഫ്രാൻസിലെ ഫലഭൂയിഷ്ടമായ അക്വിറ്റേൻ (Aquitane) പ്രദേശങ്ങൾക്കായി നടന്ന അതിദീർഘയുദ്ധത്തെയാണ് നൂറ്റാണ്ടു യുദ്ധം അഥവാ ശതവത്സരയുദ്ധം എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നത്. 116 വർഷം നീണ്ടുനിന്നെങ്കിലും ഈ യുദ്ധത്തിനിടയിൽ സമാധാനം നിലനിന്ന കാലഘട്ടങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ചില ഈ യുദ്ധത്തിലാണ് ജോൻ ഓഫ് ആർക്ക് ഫ്രാൻസിനുവേണ്ടി ആണിന്റെ വേഷത്തിൽ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തത്.^[1]
