ਥਾਮਸ ਹੋਬਸ (/hɒbz/; 5 ਅਪਰੈਲ 1588 – 4 ਦਸੰਬਰ 1679) ਇੱਕ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ ਦਾਰਸ਼ਨਿਕ ਸੀ। ਹੁਣ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਦਾਰਸ਼ਨਿਕ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਲੇਵੀਆਥਾਂਨ, 1651 ਨੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਦੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਮੁਢ ਸੀ।^[1]
