The Placozoa are a basal form o invertebrate.[1] Thay are the simplest in structur o aw non-parasitic multicellular ainimals (Animalia). Thay are generally clessifee'd as a single species, Trichoplax adhaerens, awtho thare is eneuch genetic diversity that it is likely that thare are multiple, morphologically seemilar species.[2][3]
