Positron

The positron or antielectron is the antipairticle or the antimatter coonterpairt o the electron. The positron haes an electric charge o +1e, a spin o ½, an haes the same mass as an electron. When a law-energy positron collides wi a law-energy electron, annihilation occurs, resultin in the production o twa or mair gamma ray photons (see electron–positron annihilation).

Positrons mey be generatit bi positron emission radioactive decay (throu waik interactions), or bi pair production frae a sufficiently energetic photon.
