Rebecca Adlington, OBE (born 17 Februar 1989) is a Inglis umwhile competitive soummer who specialisit in freestyle events in internaitional competeetion. She wan twa gowd medals at the 2008 Olympic Gemmes in the 400-metre freestyle an 800-metre freestyle, breakin the 19-year-auld warld record o Janet Evans in the 800-metre feenal. Adlington wis Breetain's first Olympic soummin champion syne 1988, an the first Breetish soummer tae win twa Olympic gowd medals syne 1908.[2] She wan bronze medals in baith the weemen's 400-metre an 800-metre freestyle events in the 2012 Simmer Olympics in Lunnon.
Adlington retirt frae aw competitive soummin on 5 Februar 2013, at the age o 23,[3] an haed a baby cried Summer wi her husband, umwhile soummer Harry Needs,[4] Adlington annooncit her separation frae Needs in Mairch 2016.[5]
