Area code 304
Area code 304 and 681 are area codes in West Virginia. Area code 304 was one of the earliest area codes created in 1947. It still covers the entire state. It was overlaid by 681 on March 28, 2009.[1] There was a permissive dialing period which commenced on July 26, 2008 and ended on February 27, 2009, at which point ten-digit dialing became mandatory.[2]
