Conversion therapy
Conversion therapy is treatment to change a person from homosexual to heterosexual . Such treatments have been criticized for being a form of pseudoscience . Conversion therapy has been controversial in some countries, including the United States .[1]
The American Psychiatric Association has criticized the treatments. They say the treatments are unreliable.[2]
The highest-profile contemporary supporters for conversion therapy are Christian fundamentalists and other religious organizations. This therapy has been ridiculed by critics as "pray the gay away".
Use of the therapy on minors is not allowed in New Jersey ,[3] California and Washington D.C. .
