Dominick John Dunne (October 29, 1925 – August 26, 2009) was an American activist, journalist, writer, and actor. He talked about crimes, scandals, or mysteries in his books or his own television show Dominick Dunne's Power, Privilege, and Justice.

Biography

Early and personal life

Dunne was born on October 29, 1925 in Hartford, Connecticut.[1] He studied at Kingswood School, Canterbury School, and Williams College. His brother was writer John Gregory Dunne (1932-2003).

Dunne was married to Ellen Beatriz Griffin from 1954 until they divorced in 1965. Dunne had two sons, actor Griffin (born 1955) and Alexander (born 1957). His daughter was actress Dominique Dunne (1959-1982).

Death

Dunne died on August 26, 2009 in Manhattan, New York from bladder cancer, aged 83.[2]
