Isaac Bashevis Singer (Yiddish: יצחק באַשעװיס זינגער; November 11, 1903[1][2] – July 24, 1991) was a leading writer in Yiddish literature. Singer was a Jewish American from Poland. Singer won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1978, who also identified himself as vegetarian.
