Jarnac is a commune. It is in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in the Charente department in southwest France.
It is the birthplace and resting place of François Mitterrand, President of France (1981–1995).

Jarnac is on the river Charente.
History
In 1569, it was the site of the Battle of Jarnac.
