Tewkesbury is a town and civil parish in northern Gloucestershire, near the border with Worcestershire.

The battle of Tewkesbury was fought On 4th May 1471 and was one of the decisive battles of the Wars of the Roses.

Transport

The M5 and M50 motorways and A38 and A46 trunk roads serve Tewkesbury. There are frequent bus rides to the area.

Tewkesbury is served by Ashchurch for Tewkesbury railway station.[2] It was the last mainline station in Gloucestershire to be reopened after British Rail was fragmented into Railtrack.
