Temilade Ọpeniyi ni wọ́n bí ní ọjọ́ kọkànlá oṣù kẹfà ọdún 1995 ní Ipinle Eko, orílẹ̀-èdè Nàìjíríà. Ìyá rẹ jẹ́ ọmọ ilẹ̀ Nàìjíríà nígbà tí bàbá rẹ jẹ́ ọmọ ilẹ̀ gẹ̀ẹ́sì. Lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí wọ́n bí Tems ni àwọn ẹbí rẹ lọ sí orílẹ̀-èdè gẹ̀ẹ́sì. Nígbà tí Tems pé ọmọ ọdún márùn ún ni ìyá àti bàbá rẹ pínyà. Ó padà sí l̀lúpéjú kí ó tó di wípé ó wá lọ sí Lẹkki lẹ́yìn naa Àjáh.[3] Nígbà tí Tems wà ní ilé-ẹ̀kọ́ ni olùkọ́ rẹ tí ó ńkọ ní ẹ̀kọ́ orin ti kọ́kọ́ ṣe àkíyèsi rẹ. Tems kọ́ nípa dùrù títẹ̀, ó sì tún kọ́ orin kíkọ pẹ̀lú gìtá ẹ̀gbọ́n rẹ.[4]

Ní ọdún 2018 ó ṣe ìgbàsílẹ̀ àkójọpọ̀ orin tirẹ̀ tí ó pè ní Mr Rebel.[5] Ní oṣù kẹjọ ọdún 2019, Tems ṣe àgbéjáde àwo orin kan, Gbiyanju Me.[6] Eléyì í di ìlúmọ̀ọ́ká tí ó fi jẹ́ wípé àwọn ènìyàn tí wọ́n ń wò ó lori ẹ̀rọ ayélujára ti YouTube lọ́wọ́lọ́wọ́ báyì í ju miliọnu 5.6 lọ.
