Academy Award untuk Film Terbaik adalah salah satu Academy Awards (juga dikenal sebagai Oscar) yang dipersembahkan setiap tahun oleh Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) sejak penghargaan ini pertama kali diadakan pada tahun 1929. Penghargaan ini diberikan kepada produser film dan merupakan satu-satunya kategori di mana setiap anggota Akademi berhak untuk mengajukan nominasi dan memberikan suara pada pemungutan suara akhir.[1] Kategori Film Terbaik secara tradisional merupakan penghargaan terakhir pada malam itu dan secara luas dianggap sebagai kehormatan paling bergengsi dalam upacara tersebut.[2][3][4]
Kolom Tangga Besar di Dolby Theatre di Hollywood, tempat diselenggarakannya upacara Academy Awards sejak 2002, menampilkan setiap film yang telah memenangkan gelar Film Terbaik sejak penghargaan tersebut dimulai.[5] Ada 601 film yang dinominasikan untuk Film Terbaik dan 96 pemenang.[6]
