Artistes décédes

The Cercle artistique de Luxembourg mentions Monique Elvinger (1923) and Germaine Wilmes (1937) in their Galerie des artistes décédes. I can't find out when and where they died. Can you help me with that? Ronn (Diskussioun) 11:21, 6. Dez. 2024 (UTC) PS Information that might be helpful: Monique Anne Louise Goerens married François Elvinger, Germaine Catherine Marguerite Wilmes married Fernand Reuter.

Monique Elvinger-Goerens was born on 19. Nov. 1923 and died on 12. Feb. 2015 in Luxembourg-City. Germaine Reuter-Wilmes was born on 31. July 1937 and died on 11. April 2014 in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie. --MMFE (Diskussioun) 23:27, 6. Dez. 2024 (UTC)
Thanks, MMFE! Can you give me your source for that information? Or add it on Wikidata?
I published Monique Elvinger (d:Q131401004) and Germaine Wilmes (d:Q131401040) on NL.Wikipedia and Wikidata, if anyone is interested in writing about them on here as well. Ronn (Diskussioun) 14:05, 7. Dez. 2024 (UTC)
My sources in both cases are the obituaries published in the "Luxemburger Wort" which are unfortunately not accessible by internet research.--MMFE (Diskussioun) 09:30, 9. Dez. 2024 (UTC)

Gebuertsakten online?

Vun der Diskussioun:Michel Breithoff auszocksweis heihi kopéiert, well vun allgemengen Intressi

[...] Ech hunn zwou Froen: 1. Wéi nennt een déi Zort Bicher, wou d'Gebuerten dra stinn an 2. wéi fënnt een déi digital ouni mussen ee Profil op familysearch ze hunn; gëtt et do och „amtlech“ Websäiten? --Volvox (Diskussioun) 00:25, 4. Jan. 2025 (UTC)

Jan. 2025 (UTC)
Gudde Moien,
Bei all Gebuert, Hochzäit, Doudesfall gëtt en Akt (fr acte) geschriwwen, deen am jeeweilege Regëster klasséiert gëtt (Gebuerteregëster, Douderegëster, …). All déi Akten zesumme sinn d'Etat-civil-Akten (actes de l'état civil).
D'Nationalarchive stelle gewëssen Akten online zur Verfügung: État civil; ech hu mech awer nach net am Detail domat beschäftegt fir iwwer dee Wee eppes ze sichen oder ze fannen. | GilPe (Diskussioun) 08:09, 4. Jan. 2025 (UTC)
--Volvox

Enabling Dark mode for logged-out users in this Wikipedia

Moien Wikipedians,

Apologies, as this message is not written in your native language. Hëlleft wgl. fir op Är Sprooch z'iwwersetzen.

The Wikimedia Foundation Web team will be enabling dark mode here on your Wikipedia by February 2025 now that pages on your wiki have passed our checks for accessibility and other quality checks. Congratulations!

The plan to enable is made possible by the diligent work of editors and other technical contributors in your community who ensured that templates, gadgets, and other parts of pages can be accessible in dark mode. Thank you all for making dark mode available for everybody!

For context, the Web team has concluded work on dark mode. If, on some wikis, the option is not yet available for logged-out users, this is likely because many pages do not yet display well in dark mode. As communities make progress on this work, we enable this feature on additional wikis once per month.

If you notice any issues after enabling dark mode, please create a page: Reading/Web/Accessibility for reading/Reporting/xx.wikipedia.org in MediaWiki (like these pages), and report the issue in the created page.

Thank you!

On behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation Web team.

Feminism and Folklore 2025 starts soon

Hëlleft wgl. fir op Är Sprooch z'iwwersetzen

Dear Wiki Community,

You are humbly invited to organize the Feminism and Folklore 2025 writing competition from February 1, 2025, to March 31, 2025 on your local Wikipedia. This year, Feminism and Folklore will focus on feminism, women's issues, and gender-focused topics for the project, with a Wiki Loves Folklore gender gap focus and a folk culture theme on Wikipedia.

You can help Wikipedia's coverage of folklore from your area by writing or improving articles about things like folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, women and queer folklore figures, folk game athletes, women in mythology, women warriors in folklore, witches and witch hunting, fairy tales, and more. Users can help create new articles, expand or translate from a generated list of suggested articles.

Organisers are requested to work on the following action items to sign up their communities for the project:

  1. Create a page for the contest on the local wiki.
  2. Set up a campaign on CampWiz tool.
  3. Create the local list and mention the timeline and local and international prizes.
  4. Request local admins for site notice.
  5. Link the local page and the CampWiz link on the meta project page.

This year, the Wiki Loves Folklore Tech Team has introduced two new tools to enhance support for the campaign. These tools include the Article List Generator by Topic and CampWiz. The Article List Generator by Topic enables users to identify articles on the English Wikipedia that are not present in their native language Wikipedia. Users can customize their selection criteria, and the tool will present a table showcasing the missing articles along with suggested titles. Additionally, users have the option to download the list in both CSV and wikitable formats. Notably, the CampWiz tool will be employed for the project for the first time, empowering users to effectively host the project with a jury. Both tools are now available for use in the campaign. Click here to access these tools

Learn more about the contest and prizes on our project page. Feel free to contact us on our meta talk page or by email us if you need any assistance.

We look forward to your immense coordination.

Thank you and Best wishes,

Feminism and Folklore 2025 International Team

Rétrospective

In 1993 the Cercle artistique de Luxembourg celebrated its 100th anniversary. Under the name Rétrospective : Cent ans d'art luxembourgeois 1893-1993, an exhibition was organised and a two-volume reference work was published with biographical details of just over 250 artists. With the help of Wikimedia Nederland, the Dutch Wiki-chapter, I got access to that reference work and in January 2023 I started the Rétrospective project to give the artists mentioned in it and -as far as not mentioned- the winners of the Prix Grand-Duc Adolphe a place on the Dutch Wikipedia. Sometimes the reference work said no more than that someone was a painter, then it was a challenge to find more information (and I did not succeed in all cases).

Two years on, it did not stop at those artists, but I was able to give Luxembourg architects, buildings, places, schools and writers, among others, a place on the Dutch-language Wikipedia. And, as you might have noticed, I also posted articles on the Luxembourg and French Wikipedia. I am grateful for your help and corrections! It was funny to see how sometimes even sentences I 'borrowed' from other articles were altered, but it's your language of course and you know best. In turn, I was able to make some corrections and add to existing articles on here. To illustrate all of that, I uploaded net 250 images in the Rétrospective category on Commons. Unfortunately some were deleted because of the lack of freedom of panorama.

Some examples of the uploaded images:

Today I published an article about the Sint-Willibrordusbasiliek (Basilika Iechternach), on which several Luxembourg artists have worked. It is the 500th article in this project and I think it is a good time to stop. Thanks again for your help and cooperation! Kind regards, Ronn (Diskussioun) 14:32, 2. Feb. 2025 (UTC)

Thank you!

Dear Ronn,
It is a truely impressive work you did, not only for the dutch speaking community to make Luxembourg artists better known (or make them known for the first time at all in het nederlands), but also by patiently and thoroughly researching information about them which so far didn't exist on Wikipedia, or only in a very limited form. It will give us inspiration to take your articles as examples (and source) to expand their equivalents here in luxembourgish as well, so that artistic creation is duely represented amongst the many topics on in this Wiki.
Keep on the good work, and beste groeten, -- Zinneke (Diskussioun) 20:13, 2. Feb. 2025 (UTC)

Linn vs Streck

Gudden Owend,

A mengem Versteesdemech begräift d'Streck d'Infrastruktur (Schinnen, Garen, …) an d'Linn ass de Wee deen d'CFL ausgeschafft huet fir datt den Zuch vun A iwwer B op C fiert.

An deem Sënn géifen d'Linnen “Lëtzebuerg - Ettelbréck - Ëlwen” an “Rodange - Esch-Uelzecht - Lëtzebuerg - Ëlwen” tëscht der Stad an Ëlwen iwwer d'Streck “Lëtzebuerg-Ëlwen Grenz” fueren.

Ech hoffen, ech hu mech kloer genuch ausgedréckt…

Ech géif mech iwwer är Commentairë freeën, fir ze kucken, wéi mer heimat virufueren. Merci | GilPe (Diskussioun) 21:02, 4. Feb. 2025 (UTC)

@ GilPe
Wier d'Streck net éischter d'Wikidateelement Eisebunnsstreck (Q728937) ? --Les Meloures (Diskussioun) 08:43, 10. Feb. 2025 (UTC)

Jo, effektiv, de Q728937 ass dee richtegen. Merci | GilPe (Diskussioun) 14:54, 10. Feb. 2025 (UTC)

Kategorien Nokucken

Moien all,

Mer hunn en ettlech Kategorien Nokucken doruechter geeschteren. Vill vun deene waren ofgelaf a goufen ausgebaut. Et wier flott wann dee Benotzer deen déi Kategorie drasetzt (an dann eventuell vergësst fir nozekucken) den anere Benotzer, hanner der Kategorie an engem verstoppten Text géif en Hiwäis ginn wat genee soll nogekuckt ginn, sou datt jiddwereen dat kontrolléiere kann, an d'Kategorie wa se net méi gebraucht gëtt eraushuele kann oder op en neien Datum verlängere kann.

--Les Meloures (Diskussioun) 18:28, 5. Feb. 2025 (UTC)
Fir deen Zweck hunn ech virun engem gudde Mount d'Schabloun {Nokucken} ugeluecht, fir datt een d'Schabloun zesumme mat engem Kommentar, wat nozekucken ass, op déi jeeweileg Plaz an den Artikel setze kann a gläichzäiteg den Artikel an eng Kategorie:Nokucken kënnt. Mee et geet natierlech och ouni Schabloun, wann een <!--ee Kommentar--> schreift an d'Nokuck-Kategorie separat derbäisetzt. --Volvox (Diskussioun) 21:05, 5. Feb. 2025 (UTC)
"Nokucken" steet gewéinlech do, well am Text eppes ernimmt ass, dat am Gaang ass, an zu engem (méi oder manner) bestëmmten Ament ofgeschloss soll sinn. Idealerweis soll een dann drun erënnert ginn, wann deen Datum bis ofgelaf ass, z'iwwerpréiwen, ob dat tatsächlesch esou agetratt ass, an dann den Text deementspriechend adaptéieren. Einfach d'Schabloun eraushuelen, just well deen Datum eriwwer ass, ouni sech inhaltlech mam Artikel ze befaassen, huet natierlech net vill Sënn... --Zinneke (Diskussioun) 11:01, 8. Feb. 2025 (UTC)
Nockucken dohin ze setzen ouni iergend e Commentaire ze hannerloossen wat soll nogekuckt ginn mécht och net vill Sënn, a Schablounen déi schonn 2 Joer ofgelaf sinn a vergiess goufen maache menger Meenung no och net vill Sënn. Feb. 2025 (UTC)

WDS-Schablounen

Ech wollt drop opmierksam maachen, datt d'Rubrik Wousst Dir schonn… elo iwwer d'Schabloun:WDS no Joer op der Haaptsäit ugewise gëtt. Vum Affichage hier huet sech guer näischt geännert, mee den techneschen Hannergrond ass elo een aneren: Virdru gouf et fir all Dag eng eege Schabloun a lo gëtt et just nach eng eenzeg Schabloun, déi all Dag de jeeweilege Saz (+ Bild) vun haut a vun deene véier leschten Deeg an eng Lëscht siche geet (eng Lëscht ëmfaasst ëmmer e ganzt Joer, aktuell Schabloun:WDS Joer 0 an Schabloun:WDS Joer 1).

Am Wesentlechen ass et mir dorëms gaangen, datt all Saz (+ Bild) just eng Kéier zentral hannerluecht ass an net wéi virdrun op fënnef oder méi verschiddene Plaze stoen (an eventuell geännert gi) muss, well soss de Risiko besteet, datt mat der Zäit ëmmer méi Inkoherenzen optrieden. --Volvox (Diskussioun) 22:13, 8. Feb. 2025 (UTC)

Merci, Volvox, fir déi ganz Aarbecht. Lo kann déi Saach rullen! --Zinneke (Diskussioun) 20:41, 9. Feb. 2025 (UTC)
