The Kipchak leid (an aa spelled Qypchaq) is an extinct Turkic leid o the Kipchak group.

The descendants o the Kipchak language include the majority of Turkic leids spoken in Eastren Europe an the Caucasus today, as Kipchak wis uised as a lingua franca in Golden Horde-ruled lands.

Kazakhs are remnants o Eastren Kipchak tribes who lived in Northren Kazakhstan in the 10t century, but migratit tae Europe later. So, their leid oreeginates frae a mair isolatit form o earlier Kipchak. Bolgar-speakin Volga Bulgarians (or Kazan Tatars), Astrakhan Tatars, Balkars, Bashkirs an Mongolian aristocracy adoptit the Kipchak leid in the days o the Golden Horde.
